The popularity of multi-sport competition has grown tremendously within the United States over the past decade. Athletes have pushed themselves beyond the mindset of participating in a single event to take on the challenges of multiple athletic feats in one competition. The most phenomenal thing about multi-sport competition is that you are finding a multitude of people participating. From the most elite participants seeking victory to the average person just looking to cross the finish line...they all have one thing in common...the desire to participate in something larger than themselves and to notch an unbelievable accomplishment on their belt.
One of the most exciting yet frustrating things about competition is the preparation and training that goes into it. With any athletic accomplishment, one doesn't just decide to take on this task without making huge sacrifices to train and prepare properly. For many events it is months of hard work! It is easy to lose focus mentally and physically especially when you are going at it alone.
We came up with the idea of Go!TriClub from our own experiences and frustrations with training alone. We realized there are a large amount of athletes participating in multi-sport competition in our geographical area of West Chester, PA, yet the total absence of camaraderie, support, and group training. The benefits of training in a group setting are limitless. From safety on the road to available expertise and support, it would be a lot easier to stay motivated and excited not only for the competition but the training as well! We wanted to come up with a concept that would not only cater to the athlete who needs to train in the morning but to the full-time working athlete who only has time in the evening hours. This club is meant to include any level of athlete from beginner to Elite. Although our idea sounds exclusionary, it isn't! We hope our club would benefit cyclists and runners alike who are looking for partners to train with. Go!TriClub can be whatever you want to make it...a recreational group, training group, a social group! No matter what it is, it is better than going at it alone!
Our club's home base is in West Chester, PA. We are hoping to attract any athlete in the surrounding Pennsylvania counties and the state of Delaware.
