Our philosophy is for kids to be able to enter the world of triathlon and have fun doing it. Triathlon is one of the biggest growing sports in the country. Nationwide, nearly 25 percent of registered triathletes are kids between the ages of 7 and 17, according to USA Triathlon.
Our main priority as a team is to have fun. We will also place a strong emphasis on learning essential skills and building confidence. It is a fact that children learn as they play!
Triathlon teaches many important life skills, such as preparation, training, and discipline. We will teach top swimming techniques, running techniques, bicycling techniques, and transition techniques, as well as how to prepare and plan for a triathlon race. Safety will always come first, as it always should in triathlon.
Beyond the swimming, biking and running, we will work on fundamentals such as balance, agility, core stability, speed of movement, flexibility and strength. These things make for a well-balanced athlete!
Triathlon is a very unique sport. At the highest levels it requires all-round fitness, endurance, balance, forethought, intelligence, motivation, self-belief and dedication. Triathlon offers a huge variety of training and racing environments, and allows for participants of a wide range of abilities. We are excited to try and bring these opportunities to the youth of Mankato!
