Individual coaching plans: Heart rate and power based training. 

Group training: Indoor cycling, masters swim, strength training, speed work.  

I'm a psychotherapist, so my skills with from my professional training are implemented into my coaching with my athletes.  I come from a running background and running truly is the most taxing and most difficult on the body, so I pride myself on making sure that athletes are ready for that part of the race regardless of their ability level.  

Owner and coach of E3 Coaching Madison, Zeus was raised in Janesville, WI and was a three - sport athlete in high school; soccer, basketball, and track. He lettered in Varsity as a freshmen in the 400 meter dash, was a team leader in all three sports, and earned academic scholarships leading into college. He earned his Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and has a Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. While he likes to play hard ball, he's also very understanding of the athlete's needs. But rarely does he tolerate whining!

Coach Zeus says he models his coaching after Coach K from Duke University Basketball; "I like to know why the athlete does what he/she does. I want to get inside their heads, push them, yet I expect the athlete to possess a sense of accountability." As a USAT certified coach, Z has led athletes to successful finishes in 5K's, Ironmans, and everything in between. 

Through a decade of coaching and racing, Zeus has qualified for Age Group Nationals three times, 70.3 Worlds and has qualified for the Boston Marathon. Outside of E3 and full-time coaching, coach Z works as a therapist specializing in counseling couples, families, teens, anger management with adult men, anxiety and depression. He can also be found eating steak tacos at almost any time of the day.
