Official ETU European Championships stay with Challenge series
The Challenge Family series of long distance triathlons will continue to host to the official ETU European Championships for 2013. ETU President Renato Bertrandi announced this during the final press conference at the 11th Challenge Roth which hosted the Official ETU Long Distance Triathlon European Championships for the first time on July 8, 2012. According to Bertrandi it was an "amazing competition“. Four weeks earlier Challenge Kraichgau had hosted the successful European Championships in Half Distance Triathlon.
In 2013 the official ETU European Championships will take place at Challenge Barcelona (Half distance, May 26, 2013) and Challenge Vichy (Long Distance, August 18, 2013). "I am proud and happy about the fruitful cooperation with the Challenge Family and am looking forward to continuing our cooperation,“ said Bertrandi. "The high quality of the competitions under the Challenge label and the incredible atmosphere at the races has left a lasting impression."
