Want to Try a Tri

Featuring underwater video analysis, specialized exercise routines and, come summer, open-water swimming sessions, a Woodbury business that opened recently focuses on triathlon training.

In The Moment opened in January in the same building as Torque Studio Cycle, with which it partners.

So far, things are “awesome” at the new studio, said Vahid Sadrzadeh, founder and CEO. Though he swam competitively for 25 years, Sadrzadeh a few years ago lost 75 pounds after he discovered triathlons.

“What better way to dedicate my life to people who are in my shoes?” he said.

In The Moment has triathlon-training programs for people of all ability levels, Sadrzadeh said. Co-founder and trainer Luis Leonardo has been doing triathlons for 17 years.

“All distances, but I focus on Ironman,” he said.

Both Sadrzadeh and Leonardo said they emphasize goal setting for clients rather than overall competition results.

“It’s more of a family atmosphere for us,” Sadrzadeh said.

The customized training regimens take things “one step at a time,” Leonardo said, and In The Moment tries to makes things simple for people.

“Running, cycling, swimming,” said Leonardo, a former Guatemalan triathlon team member.

It’s located at 8160 Coller Way, suite E, near Great Harvest Bread Co. For more information and rates, visit the In The Moment website or check out its page on Facebook.
