2013 Jefferson Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon :

  • The Jefferson Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon takes place at Fry's Spring Beach Club in the beautiful Fry's Spring neighborhood at 2512 Jefferson Park Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903 (Just minutes from the UVA campus).
  • It is the perfect summer pool swim triathlon and duathlon for seasoned triathletes and beginners!

    • Course Information:


    Swim:
  • The swim is a 350 Meter POOL swim in the Fry's Spring Beach Club outdoor long course pool (50 Meter).


    • Bike:
  • The bike is a 12.75 mile out and back course on rolling hills.
  • There is an elevation gain on the way out and a nice rolling hills descent on the way back.


    • Run:
  • The 3.1 mile run has many flatter stretches mixed with some moderate hills.
  • Mile one starts off relatively flat along Jefferson Park Avenue and Stribling in the friendly Frys Spring neighborhood.
  • The second mile has some moderate hills including a brief steep descent as you run a .7 mi portion on gravel road, then up to a paved bike path taking you into UVA territory.
  • Coming home, the last half mile is mostly flat to slightly downhill as you cruise to the finish at Frys Spring Beach Club.
  • Gather your friends and neighbors to come out and cheer you on here.


    • Duathlon 1 Mile Run:
  • The Duathlon will start with a 1 mile run beginning just outside the Frys Spring entrance and will finish at the transition area.

  • Participants will then bike the same 12.75 mile bike as the triathlon.
  • The second Duathlon run will be the same 3.1 mile run course as the triathlon.
