2013 Department of Campus Recreation Indoor Triathlon:
Have you ever wanted to try a triathlon but haven't felt ready?
Now is your chance to give it a try with the Department of Campus Recreation's Indoor Triathlon on Sunday, April 21st.
Each section runs for a set amount of time, which makes the Indoor Triathlon is great for first timers.
Each participant is free to go as hard or as easy as he or she likes!
Here's how it works:
Each participant is assigned a lane, your own bike and your own treadmill.
We start in the pool, where you swim as many laps as you like in 10 minutes.
Next, you have 10 minutes to dry off, change in to running shoes, and make your way up to the second floor for the biking and running portion.
On the assigned bike, you have 30 minutes to bike as far as you like, on any difficulty setting on the stationary bikes.
Finally, participants have 5 minutes to move to your assigned treadmill.
You then have 20 minutes to run at any pace you like, on any incline level.
We take the total distance you traveled, and award prizes based on furthest distance in the swim, the run or the biking portion of the event.
In just over an hour, you will have completed the entire event, at your own pace!
Registration is just $20, and all registrants get a t-shirt to commemorate the event!
The event is open to everyone, so bring your friends, or your family!
It is perfect for anyone you know that has always wanted to try out this fantastic sport.
