The Tri Faster Swim Training program offers structured,
effective swim workouts that get results. They are appropriate for
triathletes, Masters swimmers, and lap swimmers who want to make the
most out of their workout time.
Practices are supervised by experienced on-deck Tri Faster swim coaches.
You will enjoy challenging workouts, stroke feedback from the coaches,
and a wonderful 8-lane pool that will allow you to train with others
that are your speed.
WEDNESDAYS (Endurance): Endurance-based sets are the focus of the Wednesday workout group led by Lauren Jensen, PT and Krista Nowak.
Prerequisite: Swimmers must be able to swim 100 yards or meters
non-stop freestyle with an ability to swim with your face in the water
and utilize rotary breathing (taking a breath to the side). Tri Faster
is happy to provide private instruction by appointment for athletes who
are working towards this prerequisite (as we are hoping to have you in
one of our future programs).
FRIDAYS (Speed and Pace): Speed and pace is the focus of the
Friday workouts led by Krista Nowak. The prerequisite for this group is
also the same as the Wednesday group.
FRIDAYS (Beginner): Our Beginner group also meets on Fridays and
is perfect for beginner to intermediate swimmers who have spent little
to no time training in a formal swimming group. The program offers the
perfect blend of stroke improvement drills and basic swim sets to
simultaneously improve your stroke technique and swimming endurance.
Practices are led by a supportive on deck coach (Tracy Haun) who will
help you to swim more efficiently. In addition to learning better
technique, you will swim short swim sets to transition from technique
learning to true swim training. This Beginner Group is perfect for
graduates of the Tri Faster Swim Better program, beginner Masters
swimmers, and triathletes who feel like their swim leg is their weak
link. Freestyle (front crawl) will be the primary focus of this program,
but backstroke and breast stroke will also be covered. Prerequisite:
Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards or meters non-stop freestyle
with an ability to swim with your face in the water and utilize rotary
breathing (taking a breath to the side). If you can swim 4 lengths of
the pool in 2 minutes or faster, we ask that you register for one of the
above groups as you are too gosh darn fast for this group.
