Scott Tinley Triathlons is a triathlon event that truly offers something for everyone. Whether
you are a beginner or returning triathlete, you have the option of racing the Hill Climbs,
Youth, Short, Olympic and Long Course throughout the beautiful central coast.
This is a time trial event up the steep Blackberry Springs trail and down the Turkey Ridge Trail.
Switchbacks, single track, hike and bike - this event has it all.
The Course opens at 2pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday. Riders will be sent off every 3 minutes.
You do NOT need to be present at 2 pm/1 pm to compete in the Hill Climb, you may start at any time
between 2-5 pm on Friday and 1-4 pm on Saturday.
Riders will get up to 2 runs with the registration on the hill climb. The fastest male and female times
of the day will be named King and Queen of the Hill. Awards will be given to top three male and
female overall winners.
Lopez Lake is just miles outside of San Luis Obispo and located on the central coast of
California mid-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Lake Lopez has been home
to Scott Tinley's Triathlon since it's inception. With extreme single track trails, steep climbs,
and switchbacks, the hills surrounding Lake Lopez area has brought multi-sport competitors
from big cities and small towns. At the end of a typical California Indian summer, Lopez Lake
is surrounded by many tourist activities: cycling, hiking, boating, golf and tennis. In addition,
sightseeing at the Pacific Ocean, Hearst Castle, local wineries, and shopping are all within
driving distance.
Park Entry Admission is $10.00 per vehicle or free with a camping reservation. A free one
hour pass is available for competitors wishing to register or pick up race packet on Friday
