2014 Oakland Triathlon Festival
The Oakland Triathlon Festival is all about the incredible triathlon community we have in Northern California. The history of Oakland is symbolic and the Oak Tree (strength and endurance) represents a triathlete perfectly, which makes this event a natural fit for many years to come! Our goal is to showcase the beautiful City of Oakland, create fundraising/giving to all the Oakland sports programs, and encompass all our fellow endurance athletes around the country. Come join us in creating the largest west coast urban triathlon, featuring Sprint and Olympic distances for new and experienced endurance athletes.
Course Information- Sprint
Swim Course
The wave start swim is held in the Oakland Estuary starting at the Jack London Aquatic Center near Estuary Park and ending just south of Alice St. The swim will be a deep water start. Water flow will be out to bay on August 31, 2014 and will be traveling at 7:07: -0.78 knots (max ebb) 9:58: 0 knots Slack, flood begins. What does this mean? Bike Course
The bike course begins at Jackson and 2nd St, heads up Jackson to 4th street heading right and then heading to Broadway and heading north.
