This is a USAT Sanctioned event. All results for USAT members will be submitted to USAT for ranking. As a USAT Sanctioned event, electronic devices (MP3, iPod, cell phones, etc.) are NOT ALLOWED on the course AT ANYTIME! Of course, this ban does not include Garmin, Polar, and/or Timex timing devices. If you are not a USAT member, you will be required to purchase a one-day USAT license for $12.
The swim takes place at the BEAUTIFUL Oro Valley Aquatic Center, 23 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, AZ. It is an 800 METER serpentine swim. Participants will be placed based on their estimated swim time. IT IS CRITICAL YOU GIVE AN ACCURATE SWIM TIME ESTIMATE!
The bike course is 14 miles (two 7 mile loops). The course will have some very fast downhills. We ask participants to please be responsible with your speed on the downills. The course will be coned off, but there will be traffic on the roads. RIDERS MUST STAY TO THE RIGHT OF THE CONES OR BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED. No exceptions.
The run is 3 miles (two 1.5 mile loops) around the James D. Kreigh Park. There will be 2 aid stations on the course providing water.
Both transitions are in the same area, in the parking lot just outside the Aquatic Center. Volunteers from Trek Bicycles of Tucson will guide you through this area. DO NOT get on your bike until out of the transition area and at the Bike Out sign. You MUST dismount at the Bike In line, which will be clearly marked.
