This is a great way to kick off your summer triathlon training. The race is open to iron competitors or grab some friends and compete as a 2-3 person team! We have developed a cloverleaf course in Mazama which allows for all the transition areas to be in the same location and provides for fabulous spectator viewing! This is also the same weekend as the popular Methow Valley Balloon Round-Up where dozens of brightly colored hot air balloons float above the hills. Don't miss this unique triathlon experience in one of the Pacific NorthWest's most secluded winter wonderlands.
The race has been set for Saturday this year to allow for a full weekend for racers to enjoy the Methow's world class trail systems.

If you're coming from Seattle/Bellingham/Vancouver you'll probably take HWY 20 (North Cascades Hwy) East from I-5 to get to Mazama and continue 14.4 mi south to Winthrop for Race Packet Pick-up at North Cascades Mountain Hostel.

If you're coming from Tacoma (Olympia/Portland/Etc.) take HWY 18 East to I-90 and go over Snoqualmie Pass, Blewett Pass (Hwy 97) and follow the Columbia River North to the Methow Valley on Hwy 20. Once In Winthrop travel 14.4 miles north to Mazama turn-off on the right. Continue into Mazama and look for the Mazama Corral straight ahead at the stop sign.

If you're coming from anywhere East of the mountains (Eastern BC, Spokane, Tri-cities, ID, MT, Yakima, Ellensburg, Wenatchee, etc.) you'll get to Mazama via Twisp traveling 24.4 miles north to Mazama on Hwy 20.

Other Info:

Registration includes race fee, prizes, and after party with local micro-brew and warm snacks.

Weather:

Located on the sunny and dry side of the state, there's a good chance the sky will be clear and blue. The average temperatures for the start of the race could be in the lower 30s and will most likely rise to the upper 40s by midday making it a warm and sunny, perfect winter racing weather! But this is the mountains so anything is possible... so be prepared.

Post Race Meal/Party:

We will be providing snacks, including beer from a local micro-brewery after the race for everyone (including friends and family). We'll also have random prize drawings.
