2014 Double Duathlon:
The Double Duathlon race is at beautiful Granite Beach, Folsom Lake SRA and features three runs and two bikes! Yes a 2 mile run-6.5 mile road bike-2 mile run-6.5 road bike-2 mile run course with scenic trails to run on and a challenging one-lap road bike course on scenic rolling roads. Included for each athlete is a Double Duathlon tech-tee race shirt, athlete goody bag, hot post race meal and free athlete massage. Awards are for 1st through 3rd place in each age groupfor the Double Duathlon and 1st overall for Relay Team Divisions of Male, Female, and Coed.
Course Information:
Run The 2 mile run course is the same for ALL THREE Run legs of the race. The course will run on granite paths, single track trails, and a small section on pavement with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.
Bike - The 6.5 mile road bike course is entirely on closed roads within Folsom Lake State Park. The course has several turns and twisting corners winding through the oak forest bordering Folsom Lake. Care should be taken on several sharp turns so as not to exceed safe speed limits. It is recommended to ride or drive the course prior to racing upon the course.
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Directions:
Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $12 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass. Contact phone 916 988 0205
