The Mountain Bike Triathlon is a great entry-level off-road Triathlon with a 200 yd swim - 6.5 mile mt bike - and 2 mile trail run. Awards, raffle prizes, hot post race food, and custom tech-tee race shirt, make this a fun filled event!
Swim - The race starts with a 200 yard swim in Folsom Lake, water temperature around 58 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended.
Bike - The 6.5-mile bike course on single track trails around the lake is one loop with mixed terrain of single track, downhills, climbs, sand, and packed decomposed granite. All levels of riders will enjoy the course.
Run - The run course is on single-track trails along the lakeshore. There is a hill at mile 1. The out and back course has 2 aid stations that will be stocked with water, Clif drink and gel.
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
