The XTERRA Real MTB Triathlon : Off Road |
Triathlon : Swim ½ mile, Mountain Bike 16 miles, Trail Run 3.5 miles |
The XTERRA Real Mountain Bike Triathlon is part of the 2014 XTERRA America Tour. The race will be USAT Sanctioned, requiring the purchase of a $12 one-day license with USAT, or the holding of an annual membership card with USAT.
Swim - The race starts with a half-mile swim in Folsom Lake, water temperature around 58 degrees. Wetsuits are permitted for all athletes. |
Bike - The 16-mile bike course on single track trails around the lake is two loops with mixed terrain of single track, downhills, climbs, sand, and packed decomposed granite. Run - The 3.5-mile run has a mix of trails and roads - along with some fun hills. There will be three aid stations with water and Gatorade, plus Powergel on the run course. One at mile 1, one at the turn-around point on the run course, and one at mile 2. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line. Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area. |
