2014 Race for the Kids 5K & Duathlon:

Join us Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 8:00 am (Central) at the city park in Hutsonville for a fun morning.  Participants may compete in the 5K or in the duathlon (2-mile run, 20-mile bike ride, and concluding 2-miles run).

Registration is only $25 per individual (by April 11).  After the early bird date, registration fees increase to $30.  You may register online (see link below), by phone (618-592-3633), or by submitting a registration form.  Entry fees are non-refundable.

All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a finisher medal, a goodie bag, and post-race refreshments.  All athletes will also be eligible for randomly drawn door prizes.

Awards will be given in six age categories:  20 & under, 21 - 30, 31 - 40, 41 - 50, 51 - 60, 61 and over.  In addition, trophies will be distributed to the top male and female runner in the 5K, the top male and female participant in the duathlon, and the top duathlon team (one biker and one runner).

Course Information:

Athletes truly love the course at Hutsonville.

For the duathlon, the 2-mile run is flat (out and back), and biking (20 miles) is flat to gently rolling hills (lollipop route).

For those enjoying the 5K, the walk/run is through town (a loop - flat, paved roadway).

All duathlon participants must wear ANSI or Snell approved helmet during the cycling portion of the race.

Directions:

Hutsonville, Illinois sits along Rte 154 in Crawford County (Southeastern Illinois).  Rte 154 is accessible from Illinois Rte 1 (which parallels the Indiana border on the Illinois side) and from Rte 41 (which parallels the Illinois border on the Indiana side).  Once on Rte 154 (an East-West route), you will turn south onto Rose Street.  Proceed less than one mile to city park.
