2014 BFAST Triathlons - Sprint Series & 2/1/ Sprint/Olympic Series:
- The 28th annual BFAST Sprint Triathlon Series consists of two separate series for overall competition: The Sprint Series and the 2 Sprint/1 Olympic Series (Olympic held in July)
- Register for individual races or one of the two series
- All races are held at exciting and beautiful Naval Station Mayport on Florida's First Coast
- The Sprint Series is great for both the new and experienced triathletes.
- The 2/1 Sprint/Olympic Series is great for triathletes ready to advance to greater distances upon mastering shorter distances
- The Sprint Distance includes a .25 mile swim, 16.8 mile bike and 3.1 mile run
- The Olympic Distance includes a .93 mile swim, 25.2 mile bike and 6.2 mile run

2014 BFAST Sprint Distance Course Description & Course Map
SWIM: The swim course is a .25 mile point to point swim parallel to the beach with prevailing current and begins on the beach east of the Sea Otter Pavilion at Naval Station Mayport.
BIKE: The bike course includes 2 loops of 8.4 miles each, totaling 16.8 miles, and affords the participant an outstanding view of the naval base.
RUN: The run course is an enjoyable course totaling 3.1 miles that winds the participant through quiet streets and nature trails.
Directions:
Naval Station Mayport is located at the end of Mayport Road.
From the north:
- Take I-95 South to the 295 East Beltway exit (old 9A).
- Exit on Atlantic Blvd. and drive east until you cross the Intracoastal Waterway.
- After crossing the waterway, take the first exit on the right to Mayport Road.
- Continue straight approximately 5 miles and you will dead-end at base main gate.
From the South:
- Take I-95 North to I-295 East Beltway.
- Exit on Atlantic Blvd. and drive east until you cross the Intracoastal Waterway.
- After crossing the waterway, take the first exit on the right to Mayport Road.
- Continue straight approximately 5 miles and you will dead-end at base main gate.
From Interstate 10 (west of Jacksonville):
Map & Directions
- Entering Jacksonville take I-95 north and immediately get in right lanes.
- Exit on Union Street and head east through downtown and over the Matthews Bridge.
- Continue east on same road (Arlington Expressway). Becomes Atlantic Boulevard.
- Continue east until you cross the Intracoastal Waterway.
- After crossing the waterway, take the first exit on the right to Mayport Road.
- Continue straight approximately 5 miles and you will dead-end at base main gate.
