10K & 5K Run/Walk
The entire route for the 10K and 5K is downhill! (Except for the uphill parts!)
See the map at: http://ssldl.info/bookntrilogy/course
The Storytime Challenge will take place on the track at Millennium Middle School. You can count your participants laps as they go around the track. At the 15 minute mark, the start line turns into the finish line. Once the finish horn goes off, any athlete that crosses the line is finished, and will be given their award. If you cross the line before the horn goes off, you can finish your lap!
Parents or caregivers are allowed on the track with their athlete, if desired. But, no carrying, dragging, or pushing allowed! OKyou can, but only if absolutely necessary! For our younger participants, strollers are welcome, but please stay to the outside of the track.
Hint from the Race Director: Run on the inside lane of the track as much as you can I think its shorter that way! Thats what Id do anyway!
Your ticket INCLUDES a cool race t-shirt and a pancake breakfast for you AND your whole family.
NEW FOR 2014: GECKO CHALLENGE
When you sign up for the 5K, check the box saying you also want to participate in the Gecko Challenge youll be adding $5 to the pot. Beat Bob the Gecko at the race! How hard can that be? Hes a gecko! And plus, as a hint, hell probably get easily distracted on the course. All of the funds collected from participants will go into the pot and anyone who participated and managed to beat Bob the Gecko will have their name put in a hat. At the end of the run, a random name will be pulled from the hat, and half of the pot goes to the winner! The other half goes to support our Library.
2 water stations will be available.
Refreshments available at the finish line.
