POWERMAN is the most recognized duathlon series in the world with events in Holland, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Germany and World Champshionship in Switzerland. POWERMAN Florida is the official qualifier for the World Championship, allowing multisport athletes to compete in this existing, fast paced racing format.
POWERMAN Florida follows the established duathlon format used by many prestigious events around the world. Race starts with the initial run (in place of a swim found in the triathlon format) of 10K/6.2M, followed by a bike segment of 60K/40M and finally the finishing run of another 10K/6.2M. The event is sanctioned by USAT and follows the "non drafting" rules observed in other USAT triathlon events and IRONMAN series events organized by WTC.
Athletes can leverage their run and bike strengths to set personal records, test various race strategies (fast open, tempo close for example) or use this event as a fanstatic training event in pursuit of their other multisport goals such as the 140.6 or 70.3 Ironman finishes.
