The Mountain Empire Challenge is a 4 race series. The essentials are: MEC points will be awarded for finishers in three categories - male solo, female solo and team relay and events are running, cycling and kayaking/canoeing. Racers must participate is a minimum of three races in the series in order to qualify for the MEC.
The second race of the series is the Clinch River Sprint. The Clinch River Sprint benefits St. Paul High School's Team Estonoa and their place-based outdoor learning center, Wetlands Estonoa.
Race contestants can compete as a relay team of three (3) participantss or as a solo contestant. Contestants may enter the triathlon (run, kayak, bike) or duathlon (run, bike).Course Information:

Cost:
Triathlon and duathlon are $35 for individuals and $70 for teams
Registration due on or before May 9, 2011. Late registration accepted-late fee applies.
