Now in its 12th year the TriSports.com Desert Classic Duathlon is the premier short course duathlon in the southwest.
This race is for everyone, from first-timers to elite athletes and also features a junior’s duathlon and a kid’s duathlon.
The race venue is located in the beautiful Sonoran desert just north of Phoenix, Arizona at McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

The race takes athletes on a 3.5 mile desert trail run, transitioning quickly to a challenging 21 mile bike ride on rolling hills and ends with a 2.7 mile run to the finish line.

Phoenix, AZ - McDowell Mountain Regional Park (North of Fountain Hills)
From central Phoenix, take Loop 202 east to Beeline Highway (SR 87).
Continue northeast on SR 87 to Shea Blvd.
Travel west on Shea Blvd. to Saguaro Blvd.; turn north.
Continue through Town of Fountain Hills to Fountain Hills Blvd; turn right and travel four miles to the McDowell Mountain Regional Park entrance (park entry fee of $5.00).
Go 6 miles on McDowell Mountain Park Drive. On race morning there will be signs and event staff directing you where to park.

There is a $6.00 daily park fee (per vehicle) at McDowell Mountain Regional Park that is payable at the park entrance.

Proceeds from the 2009 race are used to fund special exhibits in the new McDowell Mountain Park visitors center and for youth multi-sport programs.
