The Barkin Dog celebrates its 11th anniversary in 2009. This is the first event in the popular Mile High Duathlon Series and has become a staple of the Colorado multisport race calendar.
The race offers prize money for the top finishers and great post race food and raffle prizes.
This race sold out in 2008.

Both running legs will follow a similar course. The course if flat & fast over paved park roadways and paved multi-use paths.
The bike course is a fun, gently rolling out and back course over paved park roads and on the paved Cherry Creek Dam Road.
The Dam Road will be closed to traffic on race morning.

Cherry Creek State Park is located just south of the Denver Metro Area.
From I-25, take exit 200, which will put you onto I-225 North.
From I-70 in Aurora, exit onto I-225 South.
Exit I-225 at South Parker Road (Hwy 83) and proceed south on S. Parker Road for approximately 0.5 miles.
The entrance to Cherry Creek State Park will be on your right.
You will not need to pay an entrance fee to enter the park.
Race parking will be at the Smoky Hill parking area on the east side of the park.
Signs will direct you to parking once you have passed the entrance station.
