On New Year’s Day 2012, runners will participate in the Rural Hill 2012 First Footin’ Five Miler. The 5 mile course winds from Historic Rural Hill down secluded Neck Road to the end of Cowan's Ford Nature Preserve. Runners will return back up Neck Road, eventually turning onto the southern leg of the trail at Historic Rural Hill. The race will start at 11:00am and finish at Rural Hill's rustic cabin, where a massive race day meal of homemade soup, baked goods, hot cider and more will be served!
