I loved this race in 2011! BUT...I will say it was COLD!!!! I'm glad it wasn't my first b/c it could have been a little intimidating -it is a very large race,usually sells out quick, and a lot of experienced racers. Everyone is super nice tho and it is very well organized inside the park with plenty of restrooms; however, outside the park the traffic control on the bike route was dissappointing even scary a couple times! If you're from North GA you won't be suprised by the killer hills. If you aren't well...there are killer hills! As far as the cold it seems for the last two years this is the exact date that winter starts and it is windy windy and in 2010 rained too! So keep that in mind when you decide what to wear on the hilly windy ride! Water still felt great w/o wetsuit but some people wear them anyway (warmer waiting?) The run is beautiful through the park w rolling hills. Tell your friends/family coming that there is a fee for parking and it is far (that's not mentioned at registration)! All in all this is a great course at great location - only reason I didn't give it a five is because the weather can be hit or miss.
