The Pre Season Burn Series is a new race series developed by Threshold Racing in 2011. The race is sponsored by Wattbike (http://wattbike.com/uk/) and was developed with Threshold Racing partners Valley Christian Highschool and San Mateo Athletic Club at College of San Mateo. The race is going to be held January 29th, February 26th, and March 25th. The race was developed with two goals in mind. One, to give experienced triathletes 3 high end fitness measurements in all three disciplines leading up to our Reservoir Triathlon in April. Two, we wanted to create a controlled, low stress, environment for new triathletes to experience all three disciplines of the sport.
The race will be a choice of (based on start time)200/400 yard swim, 6 Mile bike, and 1.5 mile run. The swim will take place in the brand new aquatics facility pool of San Mateo Athletic Club located on the pristine campus of San Mateo College. Each racer will have their own lane for their heat. The bike will be on the amazing new stationary training bike developed by Wattbike. Each Wattbike functions with a built in power meter and works off of the same, uniform, resistance system. You will be able to use spd clips provided on the bike or bring your own pedals for your heat. The run will be a rolling loop on the campus.
