Flying Colors Sports is proud to present the GREAT AMAZING RACE to build healthier and more active families!

The race is a fun, affordable and memory-making activity for parents to do with a kid. From start to finish, it's the most invigorating outdoor activity for families to do together, ever! Whether you run, jog, walk or watch, it'll be an experience you will never forget!  This is a great activity for father-daughter and mother-son teams!

Help us recruit teams and promote awareness by telling your friends, classmates and co-workers to join in the fun.  Official Race Site: www.GreatAmazingRace.com.

WHAT:    Patterned after the popular television show The Amazing Race, teams will race around a 1 mile cross country course that includes up to 8 fun-filled stations. The clues cards provided at each station directs the team to perform a specific task (game, relay, obstacle course, etc.) before proceeding to the next station. The team that completes the tasks and reaches the finish line with the fastest overall time is declared the winner. Contestants should be prepared to get a little dirty and wet - it's part of the fun! The course layout is spectator friendly, to allow family and friends to tag along and take photos for the scrap book. This is a rain or shine event!

Racers & spectators can sign up for the Victory Party ... food & drinks. It's an opportunity to share stories and celebrate with family, friends and other racers!

WHO: The race is for everyone – boys and girls – runners, joggers and walkers - pee wees to adults. It is designed for teams of 2, at least one member must must be student in grade K-12 = kid/kid or adult/kid. Teams can choose recreation race (those who prefer to walk or jog at a leisure pace) or competitive race (those who prefer to jog or run).

DO NOT spend your money and waste your time! This is an incredibly ill-run event and poorly planned. This event took place in Nashville, today, Feb. 12 under the same disguise. It was supposed to be held at Belmont but at the last minute was changed to TSU. There were SUPPOSED to be Titans players there, but we got the impression none were even contacted or asked to be there. We were told they were ALL out of town! What? There were NO signs directing you to the event other than some very small red one's that said "sportsfest." No banners with "Great Amazing Race" or anything were put up which seemed kind of fishy. Registration consisted of a guy sitting behind a card table checking off names that were written in pencil. Shirts were $15 extra. When I asked what we got for our $40, I was told "you get the race." Hello? For a kids event that is supposed to promote fitness, that's ridiculous. It wasn't "amazing race-ish" at all. The "clues" were an 81/2 x 11 sheet of instructions that were confusing to my 8 and 5 year old team members. I had to even practically do the first obstacle that was poorly designed and VERY poorly marked off with tiny little orange flags. Another obstacle was "toilet-papering your partner" which was nearly impossible with the toilet paper provided. Broken down chairs delineated a running path. The last obstacle the kids had to play Bingo which pretty much created an uproar among the parents. Some kids who had physically run through the obstacles very well until that point got stuck playing Bingo for 30 minutes! Laniqua (the Bingo caller) just pulled the same dang Bingo chips out of her plastic pencil case. She wouldn't even mix them up after each round! Seriously, how does playing Bingo promote fitness? It was a HUGE letdown and created a ton of frustration for us all. This guy is running a racket, and the high school kids who were "helping" him looked like they had been bribed to be there. You're better off having your kids toilet paper themselves in your backyard or run around your local park. It'll be much cheaper!
