2012 Hoosierman Triathlon:Bloomington, IN's signature triathlon and duathlon. Swim in Lake Monroe, ride the smoothly rolling hills that Bloomington is famous for and run along the lake. Come back to visit your alma mater or come out and experience Bloomington for the first time. The race site is absolutely beautiful, located right on the beach and there's plenty of parking. Now in it's 4th year you can count on a well organized, well supported, and fun event. New for this year there will be a health and fitness finishing chute expo and a free kids fun run.

Course Info:

Swim: 500 meters - Out and back course. Typical water temperature is 67-72 degrees.
Run (duathlon): 2 miles - Out and back on smooth roads.
Bike: 10 miles - Smooth roads with rolling hills and two decent sized climbs. Good course for first timers but still challenging enough to give the veterans a good race. Note: course is not closed but is well supported with Sheriff, volunteers, and Ham radio officers.
Run: The run begins with a mile of off road actual, real life, dirt trail running. Following the trail portion is smooth roads with a finish along the lake.
Kid's Run: 1 mile - The kid's run is currently scheduled for after the adult race. The kid's race will take a different direction onto the peninsula. Flooding is likely this time of year and this particular peninsula may be under water so this event is dependent on the flooding situation.
