2012 King Pine Triathlon & Duathlon:
The King Pine Triathlon & Duathlonis the perfect season opener for veterans of the sport looking to dust off the cobwebs as well as a beginners looking to experience their first race.
Designed with beginners in mind, the race begins with a 1/3 mile swim in the crystal waters of Purity Lake. This NEW DATE will send water temperatures into the mid to upper 60's.
A wetsuit is not mandatory, but recommended.
Scenic roadways of Madison and Freedom N.H. make up the 12.5 mile Bike Course.
Enjoy the beautiful rolling landscape on the newly paved road system.
Complete your race with a 3.8 mile run around Purity Lake's trail and road system.

Course Info:

SWIM
The swim starts at the Purity Lake beach area.
Keep the buoys on your left and head counter clockwise around the buoys back to the beach and on to the transition area, the King Pine Ski Area's main parking lot.
BIKE
The 12 mile bike route for the King Pine Triathlon begins at the King Pine Ski area main parking log on Route 153.
Turn right and head south onto Rt 153 for approximately 3.43 miles.
Turn right onto Bennett Rd for 1.56 miles.
Turn left onto Ossipee Lake Rd for 2.13 miles.
Then turn left onto Rt 153 for 4.9 mi back to the start.
RUN
The run leaves King Pine Ski Area heading North on Rt. 153 for .9 miles.
Turn right into Woodland Acres Road connecting to the x-country ski trail system around Purity Lake .
The trail connects to Sunset Beach Road .
Turn right down Horseleg Hill Road and head north on Rt. 153 to the race finish.
