2012 Bassman Half Distance Triathlon, Duathlon & Aquabike:
Bass River State Forest is located only an hour from Philadelphia and one hour and a half from the Verrazano Bridge in NYC.
The swim is in the calm and clear waters of Absegami Lake with the start on a well maintained and clean beach area. It will probably be one of your most enjoyable swims.
You will enjoy every segment and finish to a crowd of spectators who can hang out around the picnic tables and playground near the transition area.

Swim:
The 1.2 mile swim consist of 2 loops in Absegami Lake.
The course is well mark with the largest orange buoys available in the market.
The water temperature has always been in the upper sixties for either the spring or the fall event.
We strongly recommend you wear a wetsuit.
Bike:
The bike course is primarily right turns on country roads with wide shoulders.
Wait until you are riding on beautiful Bulltown Road!
We will have two bottle water exchanges on the bike route.
The first one will be before the right turn on Bulltown Road on mile 10.
The second is at the entrance of the park before you head the second loop.
Run:
The 13.2 mile run course is a fast flat run with lots of shade and on the roads and paths of the campground area of the Bass River State Park.
There will be lots of Hammer Gels, Heed, Water, bread, pretzels and bananas in the 12 water stations.

It is highly encouraged that you carpool!
From New York City – Verrazano Bridge Only 1.5 hours away!!
Take exit 52 on Garden State Parkway
Continue straight onto Route 654
Turn right onto Stage Road and follow signs to the Park.
From Atlantic City
Take exit 50 on Garden State Parkway, make a right onto Route 9 North for 2.3 miles, take a left onto 654 North (follow Park sign on Route 9) for about 2.2 miles, then turn right onto Stage Road and follow signs to the Park.
From Philadelphia
1: Start out going EAST on S PENN SQ toward S BROAD ST / AVENUE OF THE ARTS / PA-611.
2: Turn LEFT onto S JUNIPER ST
3: Turn RIGHT onto MARKET ST.
4: Turn LEFT onto N 5TH ST.
5: Merge onto I-676 E toward I-95 N (Portions toll).
6: I-676 E becomes I-76 E.
7: Take the US-130 S exit- EXIT 1C- toward BROOKLAWN / WESTVILLE.
8: Merge onto NJ-42 S.
9: NJ-42 S becomes ATLANTIC CITY EXPY S (Portions toll).
10: Merge onto GARDEN STATE PKWY N toward NEW YORK (Portions toll).
11: Take the US-9 N exit- EXIT 50- toward NEW GRETNA / BATSTO VILLAGE.
12: Stay STRAIGHT to go onto US-9.
13: Turn LEFT onto CR-654 / E GREENBUSH RD.
14: Turn RIGHT onto STAGE RD.
Parking
We highly encourage you to carpool!
There are only 280 spots in the Bass River State Forest parking lots.
A satellite parking lot will be available and a shuttle service will be provided when the Bass River State Forest lot reaches capacity.

The event is truly a gem to experience. Bring family, friends, barbecue supplies, and camping equipment if youre up to staying the night before.
If youre interested in staying a night at Bass River you can do so with your tent or if you move quickly reserve a space in one of their Lean-Tos, Shelters, or Cabins.
Camping at Bass River is just another reason this area is so great! We look forward to seeing you at the race!
