| Description: |
This race combines unmatched scenery with a rugged course sure to challenge the most diehard multi-sport athlete… swim, run, mountain bike. |
| Course Info: |
The race starts upstream of the historic Town of Thurmond in the languid waters of the mighty New River.
Once the starting gun is fired, you will wade into the river and travel with the current for 1.5 miles, navigating a small ripple.
Leap from the water at the site of the once famous Dun Glen Hotel, don your trail shoes and begin a run that will climb 1,000 vertical feet to ACE Adventure Center.
The 7 to 8 mile run is over single-track trails and forest service roads.
Now that youre warmed up, hop on your mountain bike for a 10-mile ride over single-track trails that will take you to the brink of the Gorge where you see the swim/run transition 1,000 below!
If you are ready for some good ol fashioned off-road racing, then come on down to Southern West Virginia for the ACE Big Canyon ORT! |
