2013 Black Bear Triathlons:
Course Information:
Next you venture out onto the bike course challenging and fast hills. It's been referred to as one of the most scenic courses on the East Coast.
The run course offers a lot of shaded areas through the woods and takes you across the Beltzville Dam for a stunning panoramic view of the entire race.
Swim Course
The swim will be in the beautiful Beltzville Lake. Access to water is from a public beach. The water temp can range from 68-76'F.
Bike Course
The Sprint and Olympic bike courses are one loop through the scenic mountains of the Poconos.
The Half Iron bike course will be the same as Olympic but done two times.
Run Course
This course will take place on a combination of paved and hard packed trails. The trails will take the athletes over the Beltzville Dam (by special permission of the Army Corps of Engineers) offering a panoramic view of the Park and Reservoir. The Olympic and Half Iron courses bring you back through the Finish Area past your friends and family at about mile 3. The last 1/2 mile is a very spectator friendly finish!

There is ample parking inside the Beltzville State Park. Please follow the CGI RACING Event Parking signs to assure parking in the appropriate lots.
NOTE: There is only one entrance into the park. Traffic gets very backed up between 6:30 - 7:00 we STRONGLY suggest you arrive prior to 6:30 am.
Beltzville State Park is five miles east of Lehighton, just off of US 209.
From the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike
- Take Exit 74
- Turn left after the toll onto Rt. 209
- Take the next left onto Harrity Rd.
- Take the next Right onto Pohopoco Dr.
- Park entrance is 3 miles down on the right

2013 Black Bear Triathlons:
- The Black Bear sprint, olympic & half iron distance triathlons will be held on Sunday May 19, 2013.
- Both events offer a spectacular course from beginning to end. they are not for the meek and mild but trust us you will be very proud of this accomplishment when you finish.
