The run course will offer plenty of shade and runners will get views of Lake Guntersville as well as plentiful wildlife.
Triathletes will enjoy the finishline as they return to transition and finish in front of their family and friends at the ampitheater.

2013 Goosepond Island Half Distance Triathlon:
- The Goosepond Island Half Distance Triathlon, will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in and around Goosepond Colony, located in Scottsboro, Alabama.
Course Information:
Swim:- The 1.2 mile swim will be in the pristine waters of Lake Guntersville.
- The triathlon will have wave starts beginning at 8 a.m.
- A schedule for waves will be added to the site prior to the event.
- Triathletes will follow the bouys in a rectangle stretching across the water in front of the Goosepond ampitheater.
- Triathletes will swim the course counterclockwise with 6 foot tall corner bouys clearly marking the turns on the swim course.
- In between the turn bouys there will be a number of different colored bouys to mark the swim course.

Bike: - The 56 mile bike makes use of the natural terrrain of the area.
- Scottsboro is located in the Sequatchie Valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
- The bike route will be flat and fast, giving triathletes a chance to set personal records.

Run: - The 13.1 mile run will have triathletes leave transition and run along the golf course before turning into the campground.
- After circling a part of the campground runners will run along an access road and run a loop before returning onto the campground road and repeating the course a second time before returning to transition.
The run course will offer plenty of shade and runners will get views of Lake Guntersville as well as plentiful wildlife.
Triathletes will enjoy the finishline as they return to transition and finish in front of their family and friends at the ampitheater.
